FREEDOM IS NEVER FREE (THERE IS A PRICE))

FOR TO BE FREE IS NOT MERELY TO CAST OUT ONE'S CHAINS
BUT TO LIVE IN A WAY THAT RESPECTS AND ENHANCES
THE FREEDOM OF OTHERS.
Nelson Mandela

We are living in a world where people feel that they have a right to live or act any how, without taking into consideration the effects their actions might have on them or others. People want to marry whom ever they want, engage in se* with any or everyone, eat or drink what they want, live beyond their means, steal public funds, live idle or lazy lives, be a bad employee or employer, take their studies for granted. Most people want to live free of personal and societal responsibilities, forgetting that everyone has a role to play towards making this world a better place to live in.

RESPONSIBILITY IS THE PRICE FOR FREEDOM.

I strongly believe the saying that "There is no free lunch any where". Someone else paid money to make the food available or spent time and energy cooking it even if you recieved it free of charge. Freedom has never been free and that has been proven over time by the wrenching revolutions across Africa, the Arab nations, and the world at large. People and society are becoming more and more aware of the benefits of freedom that they are ready to gain it at all cost.

From history, and in the present day, freedom has never been acquired without a price. The price of freedom is so high that it claimed the life of great men like Martin Luther king Jnr. I have read about past and present heroes who fought and struggled for freedom, and I can not help but salute their courage. From Nelson Mandela fighting to end apartheid, to Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jnr., Gilbert Wilberforce, Anthony Enahoro, and the heroes of Eygpt, Tunisia, and Syria. Even Jesus Christ paid paid the ultimate price of freedom by His blood being shed on the cross of Calvary.

MAY WE THINK OF FREEDOM, NOT AS THE RIGHT TO DO AS WE PLEASE
BUT AS THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT.
PETER MARSHALL

In 1800s and 1900s, great men fought for the course they believed in, not for themselves, but for the benefits and happiness of other citizens. In this present generation, this type of activism for freedom was hardly mentioned or even carried out. Instead, people care more for themselves. In the words of Nelson Mandela "I have fought against white, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die."

There is a price for everything we ever desire to be or seek. The price of success is hard work. The price of academic, spiritual, financial success are among other things hard work, determination, sincerity, and persistence. There is a price to pay for healthy living as well as happy living. You cannot eat what ever you want and expect to be healthy. The key to getting a good husband or wife is in paying the price to become a good spouse yourself by investing in knowledge. Greatness will not be achieved on a bed of laziness or procrastination. somebody always pays the price. That is why i believe that every believer is bound by their faith. Christianity is not a call to reckless living-it is a call to service.
