WISE FINANCIAL INVESTMENTS

We started this series by discussing ‘POWER OF THE SEED’ and We went further to elaborate a little on different KINDS OF SEEDS. May I mention again that SAVINGS
and INVESTMENTS are examples of financial seeds that are relevant tools for wealth generation which can aid us towards success in our lives quest. We also talked about how our ATTITUDE TOWARDS MONEY determines whether we get rich or stay poor.

Today, still On the series ‘POWER OF THE SEED’,  I Am glad to highlight other forms of financial seed - Tithes, offerings, and Giving to the Poor. The issue of giving is indeed one of the most talked about topics in the church today. However, many Christians still hold contrary views about this topic.

Tithe, Offering, and Giving to the Poor

Tithes
Some agree, while others kick against the fact that people should pay their tithes (10 percent of their income or profits) to God. Some others say that the subject of tithing is no longer relevant because we are New Testament believers. Many others are not sure whether to pay tithes or not.

According to the bible, tithe is 10 percent of our income or profit. Originally, the children of Israel were commanded to pay tithes (10 percent of their farm produce)
According to Leviticus 27:30, it is “A tenth of the produce of the land, whatever grain or fruit, is the Lord’s, and is holy”.

Tithe is not so much about the the money as much as it is about giving God first place in your life. The issue many people have with paying tithes can be traced to them not being able to give God a sure place in their lives. If you have been in love at some point in your life, you will agree with me that love compels you to let go of certain things you ordinarily would not Let go.

That is how it is with tithing. If you love God enough, giving 10 percent of your profit or harvest will not be an issue. After all, He gave you all that you have, including the breath in your nostrils.

Offerings
You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully”. 2 Corinthians 9:7(NLT)
When it comes to the issue of offerings, the bible commands us to give, as we purpose in our heart, not grudgingly. You should also bear in mind that what  you give should be commiserate with Your income. Can you imagine someone with an income of $1 million dollars giving $1 as offering? Let your income determine hat you give.

Giving to the Poor
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27. KJV

If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD-and He will repay you. NLT

We can sometimes enjoy the comfort of our wealth to the extent that we forget about the poor and needy. The bible however, admonishes us to give to the poor-because that is what God considers as true religion or service to Him. We cannot say we love or serve God if we do not make it a habit to extend a helping hand to those He loves, especially the poor.

We lend to God when we give to the poor. Moreover, an investment made in 'God company' cannot be lost. I sometimes give to the poor, but lately I made a conscious decision to give between 5-10 percent of my monthly income to helping the poor. Make a conscious decision to give a certain percentage of your income to the poor in your family, neighborhood, and in the church. God will not only repay you but He will also reward you.

In conclusion, a wise investment is that which involves savings, financial investments, tithing, offering, and giving to the poor. I know that you will succeed as you consciously take these steps towards becoming wealthy. God bless you.
