God's original plan for marriage is not competition but completeness. God does not expect you to compete or be envious of the achievement of your spouse. His plan was that both husband and wife will complete, help, and spur each other towards greatness.
More often than not, a lot of men find it hard to support and encourage their wives, sometimes because they can't stand seeing her succeed. But you see, every height your spouse attains, especially a wife will always be traced to the husband. The bible says in Ephesians 5:27 "husbands are to present their wives to themselves as a glorious church.
So you see, her glory is your glory and only possible because of you. So as a man, if you feel that you have a woman who you despise cos you feel she is not glorious, then its time to start working to present her to yourself as a glorious church. Men encourage and support your wife to greatness.
Like wise, a woman must be humble and respectful to her husband regardless of her many achievements. Do not neglect your wifely and motherly duties because of your schedule. I have so much to do daily, but I consciously work towards being a good wife and mother. I simply love my role as a wife and mother, even though it is a demanding task.
Remember, that you are a team and "a team divided against itself can never succeed". The husband and wife should show mutual respect, love, support, and encouragement towards one another.
