Understand Who You Are

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 1 Peter 2:9-10. KJV
As young people, we are often tempted to allow the challenges we face in life and the circumstances surrounding our birth to define who we are. If we were born into a poor or lower class family, we think about ourselves in that light. If we were born with a physical disability, we see ourselves as inferior to others.
However, God does not use the circumstances surrounding your birth to define you. God sees you as a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy Nation, a peculiar person. (1 Peter 2:9). He says, "Ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power." (Colossians 2:10). He has redeemed you from the curse of sin, sickness, and poverty. (Galatians 3:13).
No matter what you have done or been through, God greatly loves you and sees you as His very own. "But God commended His love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8).Why did He go as far as giving His Son to die for you if He sees you as worthless? You are the target of God’s love. Therefore, you are precious and not worthless.
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 1 John 3:1-2. KJV
The blood of Jesus on Calvary purchased you and you are justified by faith in Christ. You are now made new in Christ. Your sins are forgiven and you are seated with Christ in heavenly places. (Ephesians 2:4-6). If you accept God’s love, you become who He says you are. You are no longer who the world, your background, or limitations say that you are.
I pray for you that your eyes will be opened to how God sees you and that Satan's plan to deprive you of such benefits will be nullified in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
